Sun hardens the clay
forming a path
like our bodies grow
under a sky of beheadings.
I pulled these roots
for your creel.
You perspire dew
attracting bees and lizards
to the edge of your hair,
they make gifts
of honey and wisdom,
we consume ourselves.

I love this piece by John, I swear I am his biggest fan. Glad I caught this before leaving on my trip!
