Epitaph Seven Years Past

Epitaph Seven Years Past

Morning glories open the field
like snow glistening in sun,
this light tangled in vines
again refuses my entrance here.
I turn the loose earth
searching the murmurs for presence.
Then I held you in legend
like we were alive
while the world like a cenotaph
disguises our closeness with sky.
