Approbations 857

Approbations 857
—after Kirk Lightsey’s Wild Flower

Her saddened welt
                        leaning reactionary beckon
following rain’s absent declaration of a
                                                                        window’s hazy moment
                                    blurred illumination
understands compressed
bouts of tonal obnubilated theories
                                                                                    why her
stem
                        softened rust
                                    curls
            back
toward soil’s birthing primitive devotion
                                                                                                promising death of
                                    silent admiration
becoming rarity of comprehended brevity
            hindering scent, orchestrated reinvention.
